Oppo’s sub-brand Reno has announced a successor to its Oppo Reno – the Oppo Reno 2 that comes with a quad camera setup at the back to elevate the photographic experience of users. While the Reno 2 comes packed with a few industry-first innovations such as 20X digital zoom, ultra-steady video mode and ultra-dark mode, but are the four cameras enough against the single camera setup of Pixel 3a, which just nails the camera performance capturing excellent shots. Oppo Reno 2 vs Google Pixel 3a: Price

Priced at Rs 36,990, the Oppo Reno 2 comes only in a single storage variant of 8GB+256GB and will be available in ocean blue and luminous black colours.

The Google Pixel 3a is priced at Rs 39,999 for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage version.

The Reno 2 comes with a 6.55-inch dynamic AMOLED screen having 2400×1080 resolution, and offers a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 per cent. The device features a Corning Gorilla 6 to prevent it from unwanted scratches. Using a three-layer stripping technology, Oppo Reno 2 achieves a glossier, multi-toned look that shows off different colour shades from different angles.

On the other hand, the Google Pixel 3a carries the same two-tone design seen in the premium Pixel 3. The Pixel 3a stands at 5.6-inches with OLED offering a 2220 x 1080 resolution of Pixel 3a at 441 ppi. The Oppo Reno 2 comes with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom support, an 8MP wide-angle camera with 116-degree field of view and a 2MP monochrome lens. At the front, there is a 16MP shark-fin style front camera.

The smartphone runs in ColorOS 6.1 on top of Android Pie and comes with new gestures to manage navigation making the phone more comfortable to operate with a single hand. To further boost the performance, the Oppo Reno 2 comes with Touch Boost 2.0, Frame Boost 2.0 and Game Space.

Touch Boost 2.0 helps users avoid common pitfalls of running hardcore titles, while Frame Boost 2.0 analyses the status of mobile performance so that frame rate and stability will be adjusted to prioritise a first-class gaming experience. Game Space collectively manages game apps to give users a distraction-free and more immersive gaming experience.

The Google Pixel 3a is fuelled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor and has a battery of 3,000mAh. The smartphone offers stock Android experience and will have updates first as soon as they are rolled from Google.
