Pashabiceps

As a pro gamer, Pashabiceps started his CSGO career in 2004 and came into limelight when he joined Virtus.Pro, thus beginning the most distinguished run in his CSGO career. He became one of the most popular players and a fan favourite. He had earlier announced his retirement last year, but it lasted only for six months. Pashabiceps has been inactive for a while now, but it looks like his fame has caught up with him.

Pashabiceps has been featured in a Polish Old Spice commercial, which is quite bizarre. Have a look:

It features two other Polish esports players, Piotr ‘izak’ Skowyrski, who played CSGO but is now retired and Damian ‘Nervarien’ Ziaja who is a Polish League of Legends streamer. The advertisements feature a Bear (Virtus.Pro’s logo is a bear) which is playing against a Gorilla who is apparently cheating. The trio, all dressed in Old Spice gear and gun vests reach the bear and help him win his match against the gorilla, by cheering him on. After the Bear wins, Pasha says a part of his much memed and his much loved line “You are not my friend”. They later sing some kind of a Polish jingle and fly off screen.

This is not the first time an esports celebrity has been featured in a commercial of a much recognized brand. Earlier last year, Dota 2 player Ramzes was signed on as the brand ambassador for Head & Shoulders. His teammate and captain of Virtus.Pro at the time, Solo had been cast in a Gillette advertisement. With recognisable brands like these casting esports players in their commercials and most recently, brands like Louis Vuitton partnering up with Riot for League of Legends, esports is getting more recognition and esports teams and players might soon become household names.
