Paytm First Games is the newest player in the Esports scene in India. The gaming arm of Paytm first announced a Clash Royale tournament with Supercell a few weeks ago. Their latest venture comes into the world of Free Fire with Garena. Paytm has announced that Paytm First Games and Garena will be hosting Free Fire India Solos, starting in May this year.
There will be two arms of the tournament, Masters and Streamers Showdown. Anyone will be able to participate in Masters solo tournament, although it is likely there will be a level requirement. Streamers Showdown will be a streamer invitational tournament where the top 48 streamers will battle against each other. Participants will be put in 4 groups, where the top 3 from each group will advance to a single elimination round. In the Master event, about 20,000 players will compete in the qualifier round to choose 20 top players for the finals.
For the Free Fire India Solos, the players will play in the Battle Cage mode where 12 players will fight for the BOOYAH. The prize pool of the tournament is yet to be announced.
“Games foster a sense of community and positivity while promoting healthy competition," said Harold Teo, Free Fire Producer at Garena. “We are excited to partner with Paytm First Games to allow players – both casual and professional – to compete to be the best solo Free Fire player in India. We want to showcase the power of the Indian esports community.”
