Phoenix Gaming Expo (PGX) came to a close last weekend in Chennai

Phoenix Gaming Expo bought together thegamers from across India for one of South Asia’s largest eSports competitions​ alongside Cosplay competitions.

From September 28-30 Palladium and Phoenix Marketcity, Chennai, ​hosted the Phoenix Gaming Expo ​bringing together gamers from across India for one of South Asia’s largest eSports competitions​ alongside Cosplay competitions and performances.

The DotA 2 finals took place inside the recently launched Club Crest at Phoenix MarketCity ​and saw LXG Esports, ROG Titans, Signify and Silver Gaming battle it out in the final. Team Signify took home first place and the Rs.7,00,000/- prize with Team LXG Esports taking the runner up spot and Rs. 2,00,000/-.

Whilst DotA 2 saw professional e-gamers from across India the FIFA 18 and PUBG competitions witnessed local Chennaites taking part. PUBG played in the courtyard of the mall had over 900 registrations, a record for a mass public PUBG gaming event​.

The top prize in FIFA 18 was taken by Prathik who walked away with Rs.40,000/- and goodies worth Rs.15,000/-, while the runner up, Sujay, was awarded Rs.20,000/- during the closing ceremony on Sunday evening. The PUBG tournament was won by Team Spider Clan & Team Ganesha with the top prize of - Rs.30,000/- and goodies worth Rs.25,000/-.

Alongside the eSports competitions visitors were were able to experience the recently launched FIFA 19 on PS4 alongside a range of other gaming and VR experiences and a cosplay competition with competitors from across India.
