How to record your screen in Windows 10

Windows 10 comes with an inbuilt recording utility, called Xbox Game Bar. This utility can record a video of your actions, whether you are playing a game or creating a tutorial. The Xbox Game Bar is easy to use utility. You can enable it in few simple steps and start recording your actions.

Steps to record screen in Windows 10

Step 1: Run the application or game you want to record, unfortunately, the Xbox game bar screen recording tool can’t capture some programs for instance ¬ File Manager, or the entire desktop. However, you can record almost all the regular apps.

Step 2: Open the Xbox game bar by pressing the Windows key + G at the same time or go to the start button then look for Xbox Game Bar and click to open.

Step 3: Click on the setting and in the first option – Genera, check the box “Remember this is game”. This will enable the recording feature for the application or game you want to record.

Step 4: Now you can start recording your actions with the app or game by clicking on the “Start recording” button or you can press Win + Alt + R to begin capturing video.

Step 5: Once done click on the red recording button to stop the recording. The game bar can disappear when you are using other apps, you can simply bring that back by pressing Win + G button.

You can find your recorded video under the ‘Video’ folder in a subfolder named ‘Captures’. You can also find them in the Xbox app under the option ‘Show all captures’, which will open the gallery.
