Redmi K20 Pro could be Xiaomi Pocophone F2

As Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is preparing to launch two new smartphones in its Redmi brand -- the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro, the new media reports suggest that Redmi K2 Pro could launch as Pocophone F2.

The possible Pocophone F2 will be Xiaomi’s first Snapdragon 855 powered smartphone. The Pocophone F2 is expected to sport a 48MP triple rear camera along with a 20MP selfie camera.

The smartphone is expected sport a 6.30-inch AMOLED screen, a new generation of in-display fingerprint scanner, 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. Additionally, the Pocophone F2 will have a 3.5mm audio jack and will support NFC.

The non-Pro Redmi K20 will also be powered by the Snapdragon chipset but is expected to run on a 7-series chipset (probably 730).

The smartphones are expected to come in 6GB/8GB of RAM variants with the choice of 64, 128 and 256GB internal storage options. There could be carbon fiber black, glacier blue, and flame red colour options.

Xiaomi smartphones create a lot of buzz before they are being actually launched in the market, but what the device will actually be called and what new features will it bring --- we have to wait to see that.

According to a recent report by Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi remains the market leader driven by new product launches in the first quarter of 2019. While Xiaomi is leading, the company is facing tough competition as compared to a year ago from Samsung who has refreshred its product portfolio launching a new online-only M series and Galaxy A-series targeted at young millenials. The new A series and M series launches quickly contributed to three-fifths of Samsung’s total smartphone shipments during the quarter.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A remained the top model following multiple price cuts followed by Xiaomi Note 6 Pro, Redmi Y2, Samsung Galaxy M20, and Galaxy A50.
