Hell hath no fury as a gamer wronged. It looks like AAA gaming companies have not learned their lesson even after the Star Wars: Battlefront fiasco a couple of years ago. This time, the company in question is Activision and the game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Gamers have taken on Activision on Reddit's r/gaming and are trashing the company left and right. Activison had announced earlier that PS4 players will be getting an exclusive Spec Ops mode. This mode will be available only on PS4 for one year. So it was natural that the players who had ordered the game for the same price on PC and Xbox were not happy. Cue the memes.
But the more pressing matter is a leak by a CoD leaker who has leaked reliable information in past. According to him, Supply drops, CoD’s version of loot crates, will have a lot of filler content like emotes and sprays, and will also include weapons.
They're literally changing so much. They had A FAIR SYSTEM WITH SALVAGE and then they just remove it.
I hope something changes by release, I swear.

Usually, loot crates only have cosmetic items that do not impact the gameplay or give any player an undue advantage. But if the leak is correct, players who pay will gain access to more, probably even better weapons. And players are not happy about that.
“Yeahhhhhh this is a big issue. Sprays, titles, and other bulls**t? What is this Apex? A free to play game?
Oh wait it’s not. It’s a full priced AAA title.”
This has angered the players so much that many of them are even posting screenshots of them refunding their pre-orders.
The leak is not yet confirmed. We will have to wait until the release of Modern Warfare to see if it is true. If it does turn out to be true, Activision is going to go on a hell of a ride, and it will not be a good one.
