The announcement of Resident Evil 3 came as a pleasant surprise to everyone. The rumours had just recently started circulating and it was announced at The Game Awards 2019. Its prequel, Resident Evil 2 Remake, got quite the critical acclaim and won the Ultimate Game of the Year Award at the Golden Joystick awards, but got snuffed at The Game Awards with 5 nominations but no wins. Resident Evil 3 is probably going to be one of the most anticipated games of 2020. The minimum system requirements of the game have already been revealed on its official Steam Page:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: WINDOWS® 7, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4460 or AMD FX™-6300 or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760 or AMD Radeon™ R7 260x with 2GB Video RAM
- DirectX: Version 11
The minimum requirements, as you can see, are surprisingly manageable on every front. If you could run the prequel, you will be able to run Resident Evil 3 Remake. The Graphic Card requirements aren’t that high at all, with GTX 760 being a 6 year old mid range card. The Processor is an i5, but it is 4th generation and we are already in the 9th gen of intel processors.
The recommended system requirements aren’t out yet, but looking at the minimum, it would be within reason to assume that the game would require a decent processor and a GTX 1060 or 1660.
