In the budget segment, most of the devices come with a huge and bulky design, while the Eeebook series from Asus managed to maintain the balance. With elegant design, it has balanced hardware combination and reduces the cost to make it affordable for masses.

The 14-inch notebook has the modest hardware combination, making it right devices for day-to-day usage. It might possible you question about the lower storage capacity of 32 GB eMMC, but the notebook comes with a one-year subscription of Office 365 and 5 GB of Asus WebStorage. Yes, still most people prefer to have local storage, but it takes you little closer to the tech revolution. E402 comes preloaded with Windows 10 64-bit variant offering the full desktop environment alongside Microsoft's app ecosystem.

Build Quality : This affordable machine doesn’t have any wow factor in terms of design, but looks simple, also you can’t expect that with a tight budget laptop. The outer shell is made with plastic which is available in three colors, blue, red and white. This has a smooth finish on the top which attracts smudges. The underside body is also made with the plastic but has a matte finish that doesn’t attract fingerprint or smudges easily.

Vibrant Display, chiclet-style keyboard, and connectivity : The 14-inch screen has 1368x768 pixel resolution that produces vibrant colors but reflective coating makes it a little difficult to use in bright sunlight. It hosts chiclet-style keyboard which doesn't feel cheap neither in quality nor in response. The trackpad is also quite responsive to touch and offers you the comfortable operation of the laptop. The trackpad also supports a variety of multi-touch gestures that helps to easily operate Windows 10.

Performance : Though the machine has a modest configuration, yet it most of the applications run smoothly. Thankfully it has flash storage that boosts its booting time as well as applications load quickly. However due to only 32 GB of storage, you won't be able to add numerous software in it without adding external storage.
