When it comes to PC gaming, display, size and resolutions are first things to look for. The BenQ RL2455HM is a professional gaming monitor packed with features like gaming-comfort Flicker-free Technology, Black e-Qualizer, Senseye, etc and is meant for Real Time Strategy game play.

It is a plain looking monitor housed under black matte finish bezel. The screen is non-reflective does a great job of keeping glare to a minimum. The right side of screen is host to six OSD buttons that lets you toggle and adjust various display modes, picture modes and other menu settings. Picture modes include Standard, movie, photo, sRGB, RTS etc. Display modes include brightness, contrast, , Black e-Qualizer etc. Smart Scaling allows you to manipulate the picture into different simulated aspect ratios and screen sizes and works well with the Full view modes.

The stand is very well constructed and it is quite easy to unpack and assemble the monitor. Simply attach the included stand by inserting it into the provided base, and slide the whole piece into the back of the monitor, locking it into place without the hassle of any screws.

The BenQ RL2455HM monitor sports Full HD TN panel and did a good job while displaying colors and brightness levels. When we played RTS games like Age of Empires, it played smoothly with no trace of lag. In games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, where seen by an enemy boils down to matter of life and death, Black eQualizer technology comes into action that brightens the dark spots without blowing out the bright areas. This giving gamers advantage during game play wherein they can easily spot enemies under hidden areas. The 5ms response time reduces motion blur and other motion artifacts.

When we fired Full HD movies like Gravity it delivered good picture quality, appreciable black levels and does not result in oversaturated colors. Being a TN panel, the screen is best when viewed directly from front, but struggles when viewed off axis and there is a shift in color.

The monitor also has built-in speakers that delivers decent sound when your are watching movies, music in close proximity.
