Previously we reviewed BLAUPUNKT (BLA49AU680) 4K smart LED TV, and this time we got a wireless speaker. The German consumer electronics brand recently added Bluetooth speaker in its wide range of product line-up.
Build and Design
Blaupunkt BT-100 Bluetooth speaker has a rectangle shape with a decent design. The body shell is made with durable plastic that can manage accidental fall, but may it won’t be able to survive when it drops from a good height. The outer shell has rubber finish and the front speaker gets mesh-like fabric finish, making it splash proof.
On the top panel, it gets audio control buttons to simply play and pause any track and also skip the track with the help of forward and rewind buttons, as well as the volume rocker. The back panel has connectivity and charging ports hiding behind a rubberized shutter. The rubberized shutter holds four slots – memory card, AUX 3.5mm jack, microUSB port and power on/off button.
Connectivity
The wireless speaker comes with multiple connectivity options including microSD card, AUX and Bluetooth 4.2. You can pair the speaker instantly with your phone or tablet using Bluetooth, which is most popular nowadays. Also, you have other connectivity options to utilize whenever needed.
The wireless connectivity is claimed to offer 10 meters of range with frequency response of 65Hz-18KHz. While testing the device, we tried the Bluetooth connectivity range that works flawlessly when no obstacle is there. With obstacle, it started struggling to get signals after a rage of about 8 meters. Still, it is a good range for a small Bluetooth speaker.
Audio quality
We used the speaker for more than three weeks and listen to various kind of music. The 12 W speaker features dual speakers and a passive radiator. To test Blaupunkt BT-100 Bluetooth Speaker, we used test tracks: Angel of Mercy by Black Label Society, Stadium Arcadium, brutal bass drops, trance music and Bollywood romantic and dance songs. It delivers a balanced sound and its frequency distribution is also well managed on mid-level of volume. On tracks with intense sub-bass content like Titanium by David Guetta which features dance club style beats, the Blaupunkt Bluetooth Speaker was a bit disappointing as the bass is quite missing. However, with vocal songs, you can have fun with the speaker.
The mids sound clear and warm and provide enough detailing to enjoy your favourite music. At the highest volume, Blaupunkt BT-100 Bluetooth Speaker provides an ample amount of loudness and at the same level, but the bass could be better. You can also attend calls using the speaker which is a good feature, but please be a little loud and near to the speaker.
Battery life
Blaupunkt BT-100 Bluetooth Speaker has a quite a powerful battery that can last for more than 6 hours with moderate usage. To test its capability, we played random songs, connecting over Bluetooth and full volume and full battery, it was able to manage to last for more than three and a half hours.
