To check for sonic performance we fed the earphone with various genres of music. The 9mm dynamic drivers embedded into these earphones produced clear vocals with wide soundstage.  On tracks with less bass content it sounded pleasant and delivered appreciable amount of bass but lacked depth and oomph. The inline remote and microphone worked fine while making calls and controlling your music playback.

Jive does a good job making smooth-sounding headphones under 2k price that are pretty well balanced with good bass performance. While the midrange is also pretty decent, we weren't that impressed by the treble detail and sounded average and isn't able to bring out fully the subtleties in music quite as well as one might hope.

Overall the Brainwavz Jive is fit for any genre of music with aggressive midrange sound structure and brings you right into the music when listening to either soft rock, jazz or even classical tracks, making this product a real music loving experience.
