Canon ditched the traditional flat base scanner design and experimented with it new imageFORMULA scanner DR-C225W. Whether you want to save space or looking for a scanner that can easily fit into tight space, this will suit your needs.

Stand mode scanner to save space

It can stand on your desk easily as like a file holder and take quite a little space, making it useful even for small work environments where you can set it up anywhere. Its vertical U- turn Path transport system can easily scan various types of documents with two ejection path. U-turn path scans and eject standard paper documents without using additional space. And if you are scanning thick documents, driving license, ID card etc, then simply switch easily by flipping the lever.

It comes with Full Auto Mode that automatically detects the colour mode, page size, resolution, and text orientation based on the contents of the document. This mode applies the best settings and allows you to scan documents that contain pages of varying type under conditions.

Easy to setup

You can easily and quickly setup the scanner, it takes only a few minutes. This can be setup only for a particular PC or you can share it over the network. It comes with wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity as well so you can easily connect your smartphone or other devices to scan a document wirelessly.

The scanner comes with a set of applications including Nuance PaperPort 14 for document management, Nuance OmniPage 18 for optical character recognition (OCR), Presto! BizCard 6 for business cards and Nuance eCopy PDF Pro Office 6, which also includes PDF Converter Assistant and PDF Create Assistant.

Quick for various documents

It offers a 600 dpi optical resolution and as per Canon, it can scan 25 pages per minute for one side scans and 50 images per minute (ipm) for duplex (two-sided) scans. The scanner can ease your daily scanning job, as it can scan multiple sheets in one go. The tray holds the sheets of various sizes easily.

To test the scanning capabilities, we scanned mix of pages (includes images and texts). In real world testing it took about 1 minute and 12 seconds to scan 25 pages and while scanning 15 pages from both sides, it took only 1 minute 31 seconds. Scanning single image it took only 10 seconds on 600 dpi. It also did well in the OCR accuracy.

Scanning using the mobile device was also easy, the simple and user-friendly app worked without any problems.
