Being an entry level printer, even its rated print speed is pretty low. In our standard test, it printed 5 A4 B/W pages in a minute with the first page coming out in 16 seconds and 2 colour A4 pages in a minute. While copying a black and white A4 page, the first page was out in 13 seconds and copying a colour A4, the first page was out in 36 seconds. The scan file formats are restricted to jpeg, tiff, png, and pdf. Print quality in black and white is good with the text looking sharp and crisp.
It took 13 seconds to scan a colour page to a PC and 6 seconds for black and white at 300 dpi resolution. The photo print quality is excellent with good colour reproduction. The scanned documents are automatically opened in Canon’s Image Garden software where you can edit the text as well as the images. There is a Scan Preview feature in the scan utility of the software suite as well.
