Canon recently introduced two new affordable models of printers along with mini cartridges for customers who are looking for affordable printing solutions. The models launched are PIXMA MG2570S and the single function PIXMA iP2870S. Both the models come bundled with new PG-745S black ink cartridge and CL-746S color ink cartridges

Space Savvy Design with rich features

The Canon PIXMA MG2570S is Compact and lightweight which allows it to easily fit into even the smaller spaces and shelves in a home. The printer goes in sleep mode when no printing is being carried and is equipped with Auto Power ON mode that detects a print command and automatically switches the printer ON with a USB connection. The built-in software has interesting features like My Image Garden and Creative Park Premium that allows users to create attractive collages. They can also use Fun Filter effects to create calendars, etc.

Decent Color Quality

In standard ISO tests with 5% ink coverage it printed 5 B/W A4 pages in a minute with first page out in 18 seconds. It printed 3 color A4 pages in a minute with first page out in 28 seconds in normal print mode. Text printed was sharp and crisp. Photo quality is also above average for what I expect out of a sub-5K printer. Bright colors pop as they should, and the text is well-formed all the way down to smaller font sizes.

It took 20 seconds to scan a B/W page and 26 seconds for color 300 dpi resolution to a PC. The scanned documents are automatically opened in Canon’s Image Garden software where you can edit the text as well as the images. There is a Scan Preview feature in the scan utility of the software suite as well. It copied 4 A4 B/W and 3 color A4 pages in a minute with average copy quality.
