At the left of the scanner, an LCD control panel is placed along with some control button below the screen. The panel lets you operate the MFP easily to perform basic operations. On the right, there is a toner level indicator that helps you to identify when your toner running out and require refilling.

The paper input tray is placed at the bottom of the printer, but it’s a bit awkward. The input paper tray has a cover, take the cover off every time you are feeding page to the printer. The good part is – the tray can have up to 150 pages in one go. But you need to struggle a bit often to feed-in papers.

Performance

HP claims to offer speed of up to 20 ppm with Neverstop Laser 1200a. In real life, it was able to achieve the same. While printing test pages of various documents, assorted text pages, it was able to print 100 pages in 5 minutes and 30 seconds, near to 20 ppm.

The MFP performed very well in all our tests and would be suitable for most office requirements. In our standard ISO tests with 5% ink coverage, the printer churned out 5 monochrome A4 pages in a just 44 seconds. The text printed was sharp and crisp. The text is well-formed even for small font sizes. We also printed documents and photos.

The flatbed scanner supports up to 600 PPI. It is one of the fastest scanners that can scan a page in about 22 seconds. Also, if you are copying a document of ID card, there is a dedicated button which allows you to quickly copy the ID card from both sides and get the print in one go.

Refilling the printer with toner is quite easy. On the top of the printer, you can see a toner inlet protected by a cover, simply slide away the cover and refill the toner.

Overall, the Neverstop Laser MFP 1200a is a perfect option for offices thanks to its compact design, fast printing and easy refilling options.
