Kult Beyond Review

Cheapest smartphone with 3GB RAM & 32 ROM. It is a good option considering the features in this segment. Apart from this, you get an Android 7.0, 3000mAh battery, 5.2" HD display, fingerprint sensor and more to make this smartphone stand out of the crowded space.

The Kult is pretty much new in the India smartphone market and the Kult Beyond is the company's second phone after Kult 10 which was launched in December 2015. By going through both the phones launched by the Kult so far, it seems like they want to rigid their position in the Budget segment via high-end specs at a low price. The price of new Kult Beyond is Rs 6,999 which makes it most affordable phone with good specs. We spent almost 2 weeks this phone and here is our review and verdict.

Design

The front panel of the device is glossy and has significant amount of bezel both on top and bottom of the display. The camera is placed at flanked between ear speaker and front LED flash. Kult has excluded the physical navigation buttons and uses the on-screen navigation. The rear panel has the primary camera and dual tone LED flash placed into a single circular design just like Motorola Moto Z Play. The fingerprint sensor is also placed at the back just below the camera. The volume rocker and the power button is on the right side of the device while micro USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack are on the top edge. Also, the rear panel is removable and so is the battery on the device. The design of the smartphone is very good and feels very great especially at this price point.

Display

The Smartphone flaunts 5.2 inches (1280 x 720 pixels) screen with full HD resolution and IPS technology which gives a clear and sharp picture. The display is quite sharp and produces rich and vibrant colors. The Smartphone can be easily used in direct sunlight but at full brightness.

Camera

Kult Beyond is equipped with a 13-Megapixel AF sensor and dual -LED flash to capture images in both day and night. The images captured by it were sharp and vivid with natural colors.  We tested the camera under various conditions and works perfectly under natural light.  But in low light camera struggles and produces grainy images. About the camera interface, it has four mode icons placed just above the shutter button. Overall, the camera performs well in HDR and Normal mode.

Just like the rear, the front camera is also of the 13MP sensor with dual LED flash on the front.  This also produces good quality images in bright light but during low light, the selfies are a little bit grainy.

Performance:

Kult beyond is packed with MediaTek MT 6737 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 32GB.  The Smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow version  7.0. Coming to graphics, the phone has a 650MHz Mali T720 MPI GPU which is not the best in the range but still delivers a satisfactory graphics performance. We had used this device for more than 2 weeks and found no lag and played several games like Asphalt 8 Airborne, subway surfers and it was running smoothly. Also, there was no heating issue.

The Smartphone comes with non-removable 3000mAh mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery. With our regular usage (surfing, social networks, e-mails, calls, chats and a few SMS) the device lasted nearly 1 days on a single charge.
