Seagate claims its new external drive to be the world’s thinnest 2TB mobile hard drive and yes; this is the thinnest external drive we have ever seen. The Backup Plus Ultra Slim has a stunning new design, having the honeycomb pattern painted in metal gold. Only 9.6 mm thin drive has the 2TB capacity to suffice your day-to-day storage needs. Additionally, Seagate includes 200GB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage and Lyve software compatibility, so users can backup, access and share their favourite files from any device or location.

Features

The external drive employs Seagate’s latest 2.5-inch HDD technology, which is 50 percent thinner than other 2TB drives. It can be used to store more than 500,000 songs, 320,000 photos or 240 hours of high definition videos.

The stylish HDD can easily slip into your pocket and can be used with computers, tablets, and phones. It comes with Seagate's Dashboard software, which offers users either one-click on-demand or customizable, scheduled backups for their devices. This allows users to schedule backups for when it’s most convenient.

Performance

While testing the HDD we used it for various backups. To test its real life performance, we connected the drive using the USB cable and run some benchmarks and other tests. It did pretty and achieved read speed of 124.5 MB/s and write speed 110.7MB/s on CrystalDiskMark.

In our real life test, it was able to transfer 2 GB of assorted data from PC to drive in just 34 seconds with speed up to 106 MB/s. While transferring from drive to PC, it took only 13 seconds with up to 118 MB/s speed.
