Features

The drive is powered by Seagate AcuTracTM servo technology to deliver dependable performance as well as loaded with Free DiscWizardTM software that enables high capacities on legacy PC BIOS systems. For security, the company has build Seagate SecureTM models providing hardware-based data security and deliver an Instant Secure Erase feature for safe, fast and easy drive retirement. Seagate Secure models meet the NIST 800-88 media sanitization specification and also support the Trusted Computer Group (TCG) Opal standard. Meaning the drive will not only offers huge capacity, fast data transfer as well as keeps your data completely secure.

Performance

The HDD comes in a 3.5-inch form factor and can be easily setup with any PC or server. We received the drive for review and we used it for more than three weeks. We setup this on our test bed and installed Windows OS. It works well while using the PC. It improved the performance of the PC and boot-up time also get reduced by 15 seconds.

We connected the drive using the USB cable to run some benchmarks and it did pretty well in that as well. On HDTunePro, it resulted in 175.9 MB/s read speed and on CrystalDiskMark read speed was 161.4 MB/s and write speed was 160.3 MB/s. In our real life test, it was able to transfer 2 GB of assorted data from PC to drive in 34 seconds with speed up to 362.4 MB/s. While transferring from drive to PC, it took 38 seconds with up to 466.09 MB/s speed.
