The gaming monitor from ViewSonic is a 24-inch monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. If you have entry-level graphics then this is a perfect companion for you. The monitor comes with AMD FreeSync Premium technology that synchronises your monitor's refresh rate to your graphics card to offer a seamless gaming experience.
Design and Features
The 24-inch gaming monitor looks pretty good and gets a fully ergonomic stand with up to 120mm height adjustment, 90° pivot and swivel, -5°/20° tilt, and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility. The bezels of the screen are quite thin, the bottom bezel has branding and this one has some thickness for obvious reason. The bezels have a matte anti-glare coating to eliminate reflections.
The monitor holds two HDMI ports a single DisplayPort, a 3.5 mm headphones jack, and dual 2W integrated speakers. All the ports are at the back. You can easily access those ports and connect power to the monitor to begin your new gaming journey.
The gaming display supports 1ms MPRT response time, perfect for the most graphic-intense gaming. With a swift 144Hz refresh rate, the screen has Flicker-Free technology and a Blue Light Filter to help eliminate eye strain caused by harmful light rays and periods of extended viewing.
ViewSonic’s exclusive ViewMode offers specialised presets to fit different usage scenarios including Game, Movie, Web, Text, Mac, and Mono modes. These preset enhance gamma curve, colour temperature, contrast, and brightness to deliver the optimal viewing characteristics for each application. Additionally, it has AMD FreeSync technology that eliminates screen tearing and choppy frame rates.
Performance
Setting up the monitor took a few minutes only. There is no complicated configuration to make. Just assemble the stand which has few parts, then connect the monitor to power and use HDMI or VGA cable to connect the monitor to your PC/laptop.
For normal PC usage, the display is perfectly fine with vibrant colours and the screen definitely helps with immersion and viewing angles. Its resolution and image quality made it a pleasure to use day in day out.
To test its gaming ability, we played different games including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ghostrunner, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, etc. The screen was able to deliver an enjoyable experience. The colours were looking pretty good, but not over-saturated.
Having the IPS panel, the experience with the monitor was immersive. The screen was looking good most of the times, having a pretty good resolution. It was able to produce smooth images even in the most frantic of exchanges, but not as crisp and detailed as higher-end panels. It was able to do great with bright colours, but the dark shades and black colours were not the deepest.
Overall, it is a decent monitor that offers a decent balance of speed and picture quality, though doesn’t truly excel.
