Huge storage capacity, but in a small casing; this is the trending demand in the market. To cater the need the well-known brand WD once again announced next variant of My Passport external storage with the capacity up to 4 TB. We received 2 TB variant for review, which looks pretty cool in red color. The My Passport portable drive fits comfortably in the palm, meaning you can easily take your content everywhere you go.

As like previous devices, this one also has an automatic backup feature for photos, videos, music, and documents from your system onto your My Passport drive with the included WD Backup software. You need to simply set it to your schedule by picking-up the time and frequency.

The drive comes built-in 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption with WD Security software that helps keeping content private and safe. Easily add a “return-if-found” message as the password prompt in case your My Passport drive ever gets lost.

Performance

To test its real life performance, we tested the drive using benchmarks to test its max transfer speed in ideal conditions. Also, we transferred assorted contents to and from the drive to check its real world performance. We used the standard benchmark tests and found the drive to achieve a read speed of 114 MB/s and write speed of 113 MB/s on CrystalDiskMark. Otherwise, also we transferred 2 GB of assorted data from PC to drive in just 27 seconds. The round trip, transferring data from drive to PC, took just 26 seconds. The drive costs about 3.29 Rs per GB making it affordable as well.
