Riot Games is perhaps the biggest games studio with League of Legends being their only big release. League of Legends is one of the biggest esports title there is right now, which is the reason Riot has made so much bank solely off of it.  The other game they released, that too only recently, is Teamfight Tactics which is an Auto Chess based game.

So imagine everyone’s surprise when they announced not one, but three new games on the League of Legends 10th anniversary livestream. Two of the games will be based on the world of LoL itself, while one will be unrelated.

The first game is a League of Legends based fighting game, called Project L. The game has been an open secret for quite a while now, but today it was announced officially. Riot Games employee and co-founder of EVO, Tom Cannon said in the stream that the game still has a long way to go and not to expect anything soon.

The second game will be a League of Legends collectible card game called Legends of Runeterra. The card game will of course have the roster of League of Legends Champions and also some “new faces”. The cards will be divided into categories based on various regions of Runeterra. Unlike other card games, where you are required to buy booster packs hoping to get the card you want, in Runeterra you will be able to buy directly. Riot said the game would be available both on PC and mobile and you can pre register for both the games now. The beta of the game will be available in 2020.

The last game that Riot announced is a FPS shooter, called Project A. It is still in early development, but Riot says it is a character based tactical shooter with “precise gunplay”, will be a competitive shooter and will be set on a near future Earth. They also said that they are har at work to tackle problems like peeker’s advantage and bullets not registering. They also said that anti cheat has been their priority since day one, and “would do anything to preserve the integrity of our matches”.
