Xbox Game Pass

Cloud streaming for video games is the future of gaming. With Google Stadia and later Microsoft xCloud coming into the fray, the competition between both of them looks fierce. While Stadia will have its own subscription, xCloud will come as a perk with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. And Microsoft seems to have upped the ante by bringing in their Black Friday promotion to India as well.

If you haven’t heard of it, Microsoft is offering a 3 month subscription to their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a mere Rs 50. That is Rs 50 for ALL THREE MONTHS. This is of course a one time deal and standard subscription charges will be applied after that. But it is more than worth it because with this subscription you will have access to the latest and the best games, on both Xbox and PC.

Right now, their best offerings when it comes to the latest games is The Outer Worlds and Gears 5. The whole of Metro series is there as well, though Metro: Last Light is available only for Xbox. There are over a 100 titles, which includes blockbuster games and collections like Dead by Daylight, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the complete Gears series, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Ori and The Blind Forest, Rise of the Tomb Raider and more. I think it more than surpasses 50 Rupees.

You will only be able to play the games until your subscription lasts, though. Another thing to keep in mind is that recurring bill payments will be turned on by default. Which means that after 3 months, Microsoft will charge your card the standard subscription rate of Rs 999/month or Rs 2,999 for three months. It can be turned off by following these steps:

  1. Click on your username on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Click My Microsoft account
  3. Under the subscription menu, select Microsoft Games Pass Ultimate.
  4. Under Payment settings, you will be able to click on “Change” in front of recurring billing. Click it and select turn off recurring billing.
