Samsung recently announced its fourth smartphone in the popular Galaxy M series – the Galaxy M40, which offers a slight improvement over the Galaxy M30. The launch of the Galaxy M40 comes on the back of unprecedented consumer response to the recently-launched Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 smartphones. Samsung Galaxy M30 vs Galaxy M40: Price

The Galaxy M30 is priced at Rs 17,990 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs Rs 14,990.

On the other hand, the Galaxy M40 is priced at Rs 19,990 and is available for sale on and on Samsung’s own online shop for sale in midnight blue and seawater blue gradient colours.

The Galaxy M30 features a 6.4-inch AMOLED full-HD+ Infinity U display which is also great to look at.

The Galaxy M30 also comes with Widevine L1 certification meaning users will be able to stream content on Netflix and Prime Video and other streaming platforms in true 1080p resolution. There is no such thing present in Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The Galaxy M40 is power packed with 6.3-inch full-HD+ Infinity-O display and comes with Widevine L1 certification for streaming HD content through popular apps. The display offers a 1200:1 contrast ratio with 480 Nits peak brightness.

Both the devices offer improved brightness, contrast ratios when looking side by side and playing games and streaming videos look livelier in the Galaxy M30 than the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The Galaxy M30 is powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 7904 octa-core processor that not only enhances user experience through excellent network speed, but also allows smooth multitasking and low power consumption.

On the other hand, the Galaxy M40 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor. The Galaxy M40 is good for gaming thanks to the Adreno 612 GPU support. The smartphone also allows smooth multitasking and low power consumption with 6GB RAM and 128GB memory which is expandable up to 512GB.

The triple camera set up on Galaxy M30 comprises of a 13MP primary rear camera with f1.9 aperture, a 5MP ultra-wide lens for capturing wide frames and a 5MP live focus lens to create bokeh effect photos. The device also sports a 16MP front camera with selfie focus. The Galaxy M30 is fuelled by the 5,000mAh battery.

The new Galaxy M40 sports a triple rear camera consisting of a 32MP main camera with AI scene optimiser with an f1.7 aperture. It also features a 5MP depth camera and an ultra-wide 8MP camera. The smartphone can also record in 4K, slo-mo and yyperlapse. The Galaxy M40 supports a 3,500mAh battery and 15W USB type C fast charging feature that ensures 3X speed as compared to the normal charging.
