Samsung has launched its Galaxy Tab A (2017) tablet in India. Priced at Rs 17,999, the tablet will be available on major e-retailers as well as offline stores.
The Galaxy Tab A comes in a metal-clad design with smooth edges and sports an 8-inch display with 1280x800p resolution. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor of unknown company. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and has a single-SIM functionality. For storage, the device offers 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM (of which 9.7GB is available). Users can also install microSD cards of up to 256GB.In terms of camera, the device offers 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera and is backed by a 5000mAh battery. Running Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box, it offers 4G, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi as major connectivity options.
It measures 212.1mm x 124.1mm x 8.9mm and weighs 364 grams. The device has a physical home button on the front and menu buttons are just below the display.
Recently, Samsung had launched its Galaxy Tab S3 tablet in India and priced the LTE variant of the tablet at Rs 47,990.
The tablet runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It sports a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2048x1536 (QXGA) pixel resolution, which is the same as the Galaxy Tab S2. Running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, the tablet comes with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM, which is 1GB bump from its predecessor.
Samsung also mentioned that the Galaxy Tab S3 includes 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB. There will be a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP front-facing snapper. Both will be able to record videos in 4K resolution.
On the connectivity side, the Tab S3 supports 4G LTE Cat 6, USB Type-C 3.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2 and GPS. Measuring 237.3x169.0x6.0mm, the Galaxy Tab S3 is backed by a 6000mAh battery with fast charging support. It is also the company's first tablet to feature quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN.
