World Bank Group recently ranked India 142 in the ‘Ease of doing business’ report and taking this significant insight forward, IndiaMART held Emerging Business Forum (in association with ZEE Business) in Mumbai today. The forum converging around the key topic of ‘Ease of Doing Business in India’ was in sync with the Modi government’s goal to make India a business friendly destination. It was a crucial opportunity for the Small and Medium Businesses present at the forum, which are aiming to take the next big leap in the country and intensify the national ‘Make in India’ campaign. In its Mumbai chapter, the 5th edition of the IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum gathered over 200 SMBs from across the industry at Hotel Ramada, Powai. The Forum will be held in multiple cities across India.

According to Mr. Dinesh Gulati, Director, IndiaMART, “To achieve the Central Government’s 'Make in India' initiative, an aggressive SMB environment needs to be created. It requires simplification of policies, implementation of transparent and rational laws, new supportive infrastructure and technology built to aid business efficiency. While policies and reforms are being rolled out by the central government towards ease of doing business in India, a definite, time bound implementation roadmap will help businesses to grow and improve faster.

With the IndiaMART Emerging Business Forum bein g held in multiple cities we are creating a platform to bridge this gap. We wish to help businesses tackle the hurdles in the areas of financing, infrastructure, access to technology, marketing platforms, distribution networks and simplified taxation among others.”
