Snoop Dogg NHL20

Of recent, celebrities showing their love for video games has become quite common. Drake made it mainstream by streaming with Ninja and now he co-owns his own esports team, 100 Thieves. Marshmello’s love for Fortnite is also known, so is Post Malone known to stream Call of Duty on Twitch occasionally. But none of them has done what Snoop Dogg has done. He has become a playable character. EA Games' NHL20 dropped a surprise DLC on players two nights ago, where they could add Snoop Dogg as a player.

But more exciting than that is the fact that he has also been added as a commentator in NHL20. And as anyone would expect from Snoop Dogg, he is not your run of the mill commentator. Just look at the trailer; he brings his own unique attitude and style to the commentary, which many will find amusing.

This isn’t the first time EA Vancouver and Snoop Dogg have worked together though. Back in 2013, he lent his voice as a narrator for UFC 3’s Knockout Mode. He is quite fond of Ice Hockey and other video games as well. He had streamed Mortal Kombat 11 on Twitch hours before the games’ official release. He also received a copy of the Spiro Reignited trilogy through a drone which flew all the way from New York to California where Snoop Dogg lived.

We might also see other celebrities being added to NHL20 soon. Earlier this year, GameSpot had reported that EA might bring Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell, Drake and Wayne Gretzky as guest commentators. It wasn’t revealed whether any of them would be making appearances as playable characters in the game.
