TEC Gauntlet: The Esports Club Launches INR 52,00,000 Valorant Event

The Esports Club launched the largest Valorant event yet in South East Asia with a prize pool of INR 5,200,000 ($71,200). The event will be split across four seasons with each season featuring its own playoffs competing for part of the prize pool. The event seeks to offer a long-term roadmap for Valorant Esports in South Asia while creating additional opportunities for both teams and their players. The event will kick off on June 2021 and will continue till January 2022. Registrations for the event are now open on the official site for teams in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The Esports Club Gauntlet Overview

The first season of the Esports Gauntlet will feature 16 teams in the first season who will be selected via the qualifiers. There will be independent qualifiers across four separate seasons which will feature their own share of the prize money. The schedule and brackets for the event will be available after registrations are complete.

In addition to the main event, the TEC Gauntlet will also feature All Star Tournaments during the seasonal breaks which will have its own prize pool. There will also be awards for the Tournament MVP and Rookie of The Season throughout the event. The event is being hosted by The Esports Club in partnership with WD Black and AMD.

Ishaan Arya, Co-founder of The Esports Club said in the announcement, “The TEC Gauntlet truly is the crown jewel for us at The Esports Club. We’ve been working hard over the past year running some of the largest Valorant events in the region, understanding what the players and fans are looking for, and of course, coming up with a great competitive format that enables us to create something that is truly exciting without a dull moment!”

Mansoor ‘Nabu’ Ahmed, Director of Esports, The Esports Club revealed that the organization’s aim “has always been to create proper competitive esports opportunities for teams and players to be able to make a living off esports with no frills attached. With the TEC Gauntlet, our goal is to provide the ultimate competitive platform for Valorant players in South Asia to aspire towards, without keeping it out of reach for amateur teams thanks to our regular open qualifiers.”

The Esports Club Gauntlet Schedule

The matches will kick off in June 2021 and the event will conclude in January 2022. However, the schedule is not yet available. 16 teams will make it to Season 1 via the qualifiers.
