Quibi

It stands for Quick Bite and it was meant to be Netflix for the up and coming generation. It was targeted towards the stats that more and more people were consuming shorter content. The idea looked promising and was led by industry leaders like Meg Whitman, ex-CEO of HP and Jeffrey Katzenberg, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios. The failure came because this was based an old person's idea of what the new generation might want. Best thing would have been to get some famous TikTok stars onboard to create high quality promotional content. They also messed with their own idea by capping the time limit to 10-minutes. The promotional content and content in general was created by A-listed celebrities and paying to watch 10-minute clips just did not make any sense. So within 7 months of launching, Quibi failed.

In July of 2020, a hacking spree took over Twitter where more than 130 profiles of influential people were hacked. We are talking about people like Barrack Obama, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, MrBeast and even the official Apple account. Not only did the hackers got into the account but also used it to scam people. The tweet from all these accounts said that if they are sent one bitcoin then they will send back twice the money. This was done by 3 teenagers with the intention of earning some money but if this level of power is exposed to someone with malicious intentions, you can start a war.

Cyberpunk 2077

This was the most awaited and hyped game of the decade. Even though the game released towards the end of the decade, the teasers of it could be seen since 2013. It was a bug fest. There were random teleportations, graphical glitches, flying through walls and everything around it that could go wrong. The reviews were delayed and the company saw a steep downfall in stock prices. The major reason behind this was the agitation of the community on receiving a half built game. The game was also hit by a ransomware hack which is shady. Cyberpunk is probably the biggest video game disaster ever.

Hawaii Missile Text

If you saw a message saying that there is a ballistic threat and this is not a drill, how would you feel? This message was sent one day in 2018 to every TV, Radio and Mobile Device in Hawaii. The people were already very scared due to the growing tensions between North Korea and USA. This seemed like a very real threat and people were losing their minds. Turns out, it was a mistake. It was a result of an internal miscommunication in Hawaii Emergency Facility and it took them 38 minutes to resolve it.

Theranos

A lady called Elizabeth Holmes saw an opportunity in medical tech. She realized that every medical test requires a separate file of blood and this makes the job very taxing. So she came up with an idea where a machine takes one file of blood and does more than 240 tests with it at the same time. This looked like an idea to save time and money. The company got a fund of $9 billion and she was referred as the female Steve Jobs but all of this came to an end, It was found that he claims about military and other agencies using her tech was a lie. People at her own company did not use the tech and rather go with the conventional method of testing. This resulted in a huge fail.
