Guide to Reset your Samsung Smartphone if you forget the Password

Forgetting the password to your Samsung Android phone can be frustrating, especially when you urgently need access to your device. 1. Power Off the Phone

• Press and hold the Power button until a menu appears.
• Select the Shutdown or Power Off option.

2. Enter Recovery Mode

• Press and hold the Power button along with either the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
• The button combination depends on the phone model:
• Samsung Galaxy devices: Power + Volume Up.
• Google Pixel devices: Power + Volume Down.
• Continue holding until the recovery menu appears.

3. Select Recovery Mode

• Use the Volume Up/Down buttons to navigate to Recovery Mode.
• Press the Power button to confirm your selection.

4. Wipe Data and Perform Factory Reset

• In the recovery menu, scroll down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset using the Volume buttons.
• Press the Power button to select this option.

5. Reboot the Phone

If you've enabled Smart Unlock, your phone can automatically unlock when it's near a trusted device, such as a paired smartwatch, or in a trusted location like your home.

2. Samsung's SmartThings Find

Samsung users can leverage the SmartThings Find feature to unlock their devices remotely if it has been set up in advance.

3. Google Find My Device

Unfortunately, Google's Find My Device no longer allows you to reset passwords remotely. For non-Samsung devices, the only remaining solution is performing a factory reset.

Forgetting your phone's password can be stressful, but performing a factory reset is a reliable method to regain access.
