Amazon has finally decided to change the name of Twitch Prime to Prime gaming. The announcement came on Twitter from the Amazon official twitter account. The change of Twitch Prime to Prime gaming makes sense since Amazon owns Twitch and is starting to rebrand the famous streaming platform ever since the new competition has entered. As of now, there are multiple streaming platforms that are dedicated to gaming. The newly announced  Facebook Gaming almost overtook Twitch in the number of views and viewer engagement for a brief moment. With this new branding of Prime Gaming, it looks like Amazon is planning to not only cement Twitch as a streaming platform but also to expand in other markets. Larry Plotnick, general manager of Prime Gaming said "Prime members already get the best of TV, movies, and music, and now we’re expanding our entertainment offerings to include the best of gaming. We’re giving customers new content that makes playing their favorite games on every platform even better. So no matter what kind of games you love, and no matter where you play them, they’ll be even better with Prime Gaming."

Members of Amazon Prime who have connected their Amazon account with their twitch account will be able to get exclusive in-game content and freebies with Prime Gaming every month. Prime Gaming is giving out new in-game content for Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online, Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FIFA 20, League of Legends, and more than 20 other popular PC, console, and mobile games, worth hundreds of dollars in value. Amazon will also be offering Free games with Prime Gaming to members. In this month of August members of Prime gaming will be able to claim 20 free games including SNK 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION, METAL SLUG 2, and indie retro brawler Treachery in Beatdown City. Amazon will be collaborating with many game publishers like Riot Games, Roblox Corp, and Rockstar Games.

With the launch of Prime Gaming now Amazon is offering Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, and more. Amazon's launch of Prime gaming comes at a critical time for Twitch who is still reeling from the effect of Mixer and Facebook Gaming trying to take away big twitch streamers.
