While the 2019 iPhones are excellent options and would make many users skip the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR in favour of buying Apple’s 2019 iPhones, phones that are called iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Of the three, the iPhone 11 Pro is the flagship product that costs a whopping Rs 1,09,900. But, do you need to pay such a large amount to have the newest iPhone in your pocket or has it simply become a brand value.

In September of 2018, Apple introduced three new iPhones – a 5.8-inch successor iPhone XS, 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max and a cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone XR that comes with LCD screen. According to market research firm IHS Markit’s Smartphone Model Market Tracker report, Apple shipped 26.9 million iPhone XR units worldwide.

Now, let’s see what has changed in the iPhone 11 series.

This year they have a new processor, an extra camera sensor and Apple says it has manufactured the chassis of the 2019 phone from a single block of metal. While the camera resolution is the same (12MP) as compared to the previous generation, the number of sensors has increased. According to Apple, the cameras in the latest iPhone series are claimed to be more powerful than the previous iPhone X series.

As far as price is concerned, the prices of 2019 iPhones are exactly the same as last year’s iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs models, which is Rs 99,900 for the iPhone 11 Pro and Rs 1,09,900 for the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The iPhone 11 Pro sports a 5.8-inch display, the iPhone 11 Pro Max comes with a 6.5-inch panel. Both the iPhones have HDR-enabled OLED panels and carry an IP68 rating (can survive in water for up to 30 minutes at a max depth of 4 metres).

These iPhones are powered by the Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, which according to the company is the fastest combination CPU and GPU available on a smartphone.

In terms of mobile photography, both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max come with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP sensor with wide f/1.8 lens, another 12MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens that has f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view, and another 12MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture telephoto lens. Consumers can shoot images with 2x optical zoom, and up to 10x digital zoom. At the front, there is a 12MP sensor that is capable to record slow motion and 4K videos.

So, should you upgrade it?

Well, if you have an older iPhone than the XR and you’re looking to upgrade, then you should upgrade to iPhone 11 Pro as the cameras in the 2019 models have improved substantially, and you will get a better battery life than the previous generations. This is what most of the Apple users’ care about.
