Users Can Now Access Teams on Xbox Game Bar: Microsoft

The Xbox Game Bar now features a new Teams function from Microsoft. Users will be able to share their games with pals through the video conferencing system provided by the tech giant thanks to this functionality. The new "Microsoft Teams Play Together" widget is now accessible on the Xbox Game Bar, according to Microsoft.

Users will be able to broadcast their complete desktop over Teams using this option. The business will also let customers participate in video chats so they can view their gaming companions.

Is this platform as good as Discord?

Just like Discord, the new Teams game bar integration helps players get to "a place where they can watch and play games." Users can see their friends in the game. This option allows up to 20 people to join the call at the same time.

How will Teams work on the Xbox Game Bar?

According to a report by the Verge, the image quality of Teams calls and streaming appeared to be quite good for both the web and mobile clients. However, the report mentioned that Teams streams games at 30 frames per second or less and is not an ideal way to stream PC games. The report also noted that in-game video participants were unavailable while testing the feature.

According to the report, the mask call participants feature may not be working properly yet. Microsoft introduced this feature to compete with other game streaming platforms like Discord and Twitch.  This feature is part of Microsoft's efforts to attract Microsoft Teams communities. In June, the company launched Discord-like communities for Teams in Windows 11. This option is Microsoft's answer to Facebook and other apps like Discord, WhatsApp, and Reddit that can host groups.

Microsoft shutting down Xbox 360

Further, According to a statement from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 Store will close its doors in July 2024. As a result, Xbox 360 owners won't be able to purchase new Xbox 360 games, DLC (additional game content), and other items from the store after that date.

Additionally, new purchases will no longer be permitted on the Xbox 360 Marketplace, where you may purchase avatars and games. Microsoft stated that the Xbox 360 will have been available for 18 years in November.
