While Huawei’s Mate X’s 55-watt fast charging tech that can charge the smartphone to 85 per cent in just 30 minutes was considered as one of the best technologies, however, China’s Vivo has introduced a new 120W fast charging technology at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2019 that can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 13 minutes. Called as Super FlashCharge 120W, it is first in the industry to deliver 120W ultra-high power charging.

The Super FlashCharge 120W features a new charge pump technology with a deeply customisable Type-C data cable and travel charger, realising 120W ultra-high power charging (20V/6A).

The Super FlashCharge 120W takes only five minutes to charge a 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 50 per cent, and can fully charge the smartphone in just 13 minutes, said Vivo in accordance with the lab test reports.

Vivo’s 120W fast charging tech beats Xiaomi’s 100W charging technology, which the company claims can a battery of the similar capacity in 17 minutes. However, both the technologies are yet to be seen in a commercial product.

Xiaomi 100W Super Charge Turbo is also the world’s first flash charging and is double the power of Oppo’s SuperVOOC charge that has 50W support. While SuperVOOC charges a battery having capacity of 3,730mAh battery in just 35 minutes, Xiaomi Super Charge Turbo technology can juice up a 4,000mAh battery in mere 17 minutes. But, now Vivo’s 120W Super FlashCharge 120W has taken over both Oppo and Xiaomi.

‘Vivo’s mission has always been to develop innovative products to deliver the ultimate user experience, with smart devices and smart services as the core of our business. We hope through the introduction of new innovation we can truly make a big impact in improving people's quality of life and the society as a whole,’ said Spark Ni, Senior Vice President of Vivo.
