WhatsApp Adds Shopping Button, Now Order Directly from the Chat

WhatsApp has added a new feature that will make business users and their customers very happy. The new Shopping button is now coming to the app and it will let users see the entire product line of a business vendor in a single place. It goes without saying that only users who have a business account on WhatsApp and have added their products in the catalog will be able to take advantage of this new update. WhatsApp says that the new button will make it easier for businesses to have their products discovered and this can in turn help increase sales.

In India alone WhatsApp has over 400 million users and with this new Shopping button along with the recently launched UPI payment feature, it makes for a perfect picture for both vendors and customers.

The new WhatsApp shopping button will arrive in an OTA update on devices across the world. In India, users who have made a business account will be able to add their entire product line in the app itself. Also, since WhatsApp has also added a UPI payment system for Indian users you will be able to place an order for the product and pay for it, all inside the chat itself. WhatsApp enjoys an unparalleled level of monopoly when it comes to messaging apps in India and with this new update, it might very well become the default choice of shopping in the country.

The shopping button gives WhatsApp users direct access to your catalog on the WhatsApp Business app. Users can access the button directly from their chat with you, making it easier for them to explore your products and services while chatting with you directly.

To make the shopping button available to your customers, you must have an account registered to the WhatsApp Business app and have set up a catalog. If you meet those requirements, the shopping button will automatically appear to your customers in their chats with you.
