WhatsApp: Here are new features coming soon

To stay on top of the messaging apps list, WhatsApp from the past few months have been continuously bringing new updates for its billion users globally. Some of the features focuses on privacy, others are designed to enhanced the user experience. WhatsApp is set to bring five more features to its app in 2019.

Boomerang

We all have been familiar with Instagram’s Boomerang feature that takes a burst of photos, then speeds them up and plays them forward and backward to create a looping Boomerang video. WhatsApp is said to be bringing the same feature to its chap app. According to media reports, the feature will be available in the video type panel and will allow users to pick video or GIF as the format.

Memoji Stickers

If you are a beta app user, you would have already seen the newly introduced Memoji Stickers in the WhatsApp app on iOS. The beta version 2.19.90.23 supports the Memoji feature and the stickers will be rolled out to stable versions in the coming weeks.

Dark Mode

While dark mode is available system wide on Android 10 beta that transforms the text from black to white black, WhatsApp will soon roll it out for its dedicated app in the coming week. The dark mode on WhatsApp will also help users save battery.

Sharing WhatsApp status post on Facebook

The company is working on a new feature that will allow users to share posts from their WhatsApp status with other apps. If you have enrolled yourself for WhatsApp beta programme, you will be able to see a new sharing option below your status, that can be used to post a status directly as your Facebook story or you can send it to other apps including Instagram, Gmail, or Google Photos.

Contacts ranking

The new contacts ranking feature will pin your favourite contacts up on top all the time by detecting which contacts you interact more often.
