Additionally, Whatsapp will also stop working on all Windows phone operating systems starting from December 31, 2019.

‘No support for iOS 8! You can still use it on iOS 8, but if you reinstall the app, you will no longer able to verify your account. The iOS 8 compatibility will be fully removed on February 1, 2020. Windows Phone is confirmed to be deprecated after December 31, 2019,’ WABetaInfo reported.

From the past few months, the instant messaging platform has been continuously working to new updates for its one billion users globally to stay on the top. While a few features focus more on privacy, others are designed to enhance the user experience.

WhatsApp is also working to bringing a Boomerang feature to its platform. The feature will be similar to Instagram’s Boomerang and will be available in the video type panel and will allow users to pick video or GIF as the format.

Other additional features coming to WhatsApp include Dark Mode, sharing WhatsApp status post to Facebook, contacts ranking, etc.

The dark mode transforms the text from black to white and will also help users save battery. With the status sharing feature, users will be able to share posts from their WhatsApp status with other apps. If you have enrolled yourself for WhatsApp beta program, you will be able to see a new sharing option below your status, that can be used to post a status directly as your Facebook story or you can send it to other apps including Instagram, Gmail, or Google Photos.

Additionally, the new contacts ranking feature will let users pin your favourite contacts up on top all the time by detecting which contacts you interact more often.
