Xiaomi India Launches Mi TV Stick at Rs. 2,799, Sale on 7th August

Xiaomi has finally launched its first-ever Tv stick in India. The Mi Tv Stick by Xiaomi was launched Globally a month back and now they have brought the device to India. The Mi Tv stick will compete directly with the Amazon Fire Tv stick in India once it goes on sale. Even before the launch had happened the Xiaomi India official twitter account was taking digs at the Amazon Fire Tv Stick. The new Mi tv stick will be priced below the Mi Tv box and will a budget-friendly offering by the smartphone manufacturer. This is a simple plug n play device by the company which will make any tv with an HDMI port an Android Tv.

Xiaomi Mi TV Stick specifications

The Mi Tv Stick will be running on Android Tv OS with Xiaomi’s own Patchwall on top. Patchwall is Xiaomi’s own UI for its tv devices. All of Xiaomi’s smart TVs and Mi Tv box run on Patchwall UI. Under the covers, the Mi tv stick will be running on a Quad-core processor coupled with 8GB of storage and 1GB of Ram. There is a remote which will connect via Bluetooth with the tv stick. In the box, there will be a MicroUSB cable and a charger to power the tv stick. The maximum resolution supported by the Mi Tv stick is 1920 x 1080 HD only. There is no support for 4K streaming on the device. Among other things, the Mi Tv stick will support all the major streaming platforms like Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, Voot, Zee5, etc. On the remote control, there will be two dedicated buttons for Netflix and Amazon Prime. 

Xiaomi Mi TV Stick price in India and sale date

The Mi Tv stick will go on sale in India on the 7th of August. The price of the device has been set at Rs. 2,799 which makes it cheaper than the similarly featured Amazon Fire Tv Stick. The Mi tv stick will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Amazon, Mi.com, and offline retail stores across the country.
