POCO today launched its newest smartphone for the Indian market -- POCO M 2 -- via means of an engaging online launch event. Starting INR 10,999, POCO M2 is India’s most affordable 6GB smartphone. POCO is an independent brand born out of Xiaomi in India. Its first product, POCO F1 was launched in August 2018, and since January 2020, POCO has become an independent brand.

Poco M2 Specifications:

POCO M2 comes with a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz paired with 6GB of RAM. The screen is a 16.58cm (6.53) Full HD+ display, with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The display is reading mode certified by TÜV Rheinland. POCO M2 features a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device to allow for quick unlocking. There is also a P2i nano-coating that makes the device resistant to accidental splashes.

POCO M2 features a quad camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 5,000mAh built-in battery-powered with support for 18W fast charging. There will be two variants of the device in India. One will offer 6GB of Ram and 64GB of storage at Rs. 10,999. The other will come with 6GB of Ram and 128GB of storage priced at Rs. 12,499. Both devices have storage expandability via MicroSD card. This is a dual sim device. Out of the box, the Poco M2 will run on Android with MiUi 11 on top and MIUI 12 update is coming soon.

Poco M 2 Sale:

POCO M2 will be available in 6/64GB and 6/128GB storage variants for INR 10,999 and INR 12,499 respectively. Buyers will be able to avail an additional INR 750 instant discount when transacting through ICICI (credit cards or debit card EMIs) and Federal Bank (debit cards). POCO M2 will be available in Slate Blue, Pitch Black, and Brick Red color variants. It will be available for purchase via Flipkart on 12 noon, 15 September 2020.
